Out of everyone, Kravitz is the person Taako expected to cut and run the soonest. From his arrival and early admissions of his affection, between events designed to separate them, down to Candlenights compositions with clasped hands and quiet affection, Kravitz still feels unreal, like something Taako thinks he doesn't exactly deserve. Despite these fears, Kravitz has proved time and time again that he's here for Taako's everything, and not just in words. While they've both had their problems, Taako has finally stopped grappling with the idea that Kravitz will disappear one day for his actions, and started grappling with what that means- that he has to accept if he can truly love someone, and if so, how to admit that even to himself.
This is especially on the forefront of his mind lately thanks to god events that boiled down to Lup's death at Kravitz' hands; he always imagined this sort of action would separate them entirely, or that he could never place someone at Lup's level in caring for him. But as much as Taako insists he doesn't latch onto people, Kravitz has made it to a level of care he didn't think he could ever give to another person.
Now, if he'll ever say those words... well, that remains to be seen.
