All that I want Is to wake up fine Tell me that I'm alright That I ain't gonna die All that I want Is a hole in the ground You can tell me when it's alright For me to come out
Hard times Gonna make you wonder why you even try Hard times Gonna take you down and laugh when you cry These lives And I still don't know how I even survive Hard times Hard times
And I gotta get to rock bottom
Walking around With my little rain cloud Hanging over my head And it ain't coming down Where do I go? Gimme some sort of sign You hit me with lightning! Maybe I'll come alive
CECILY TREVELYAN
One of the first people Taako met in Hadriel that he could say he likes well enough to mention. Cecily's an old hat around the city and has the same kind of coping mechanisms Taako does (wine and jokes) but it unsettles him that anyone could've been here so long- and that she still seems to be just as much at the mercy of these gods as he is, even after more than a year. Regardless, he figures she's worse to him as an enemy than an ally, and the humor is a great step in the right direction.
On top of all of this, Cecily's one of the only people in the city so far to catch Taako off-guard; after stumbling into a rather personal moment of hers, he managed to find some catharsis even in complaining. He feels like he's crossed some sort of boundary, or at least that he's let her too close too quickly, but only time will tell how it all shakes out. For now, he figures that won't be the last he sees of her; hopefully in a time when they're both less emotionally vulnerable.

All that I want
Is to wake up fine
Tell me that I'm alright
That I ain't gonna die
All that I want
Is a hole in the ground
You can tell me when it's alright
For me to come out
Hard times
Gonna make you wonder why you even try
Hard times
Gonna take you down and laugh when you cry
These lives
And I still don't know how I even survive
Hard times
Hard times
And I gotta get to rock bottom
Walking around
With my little rain cloud
Hanging over my head
And it ain't coming down
Where do I go?
Gimme some sort of sign
You hit me with lightning!
Maybe I'll come alive
